I checked the nest box in the Sumac pasture. It had a new nest. It was an unusual nest, not a Bluebird. The nest had a base of moss and the top layer was hair. I am pretty sure it is horse hair as I have a white pony in a pasture near here. The pony lays down and rolls when it gets up there is a white spot in the pasture, a good, conspicuous source of nest material . I was not familiar with that nest and they had some little baby birds in it that look like they were black and white. I think the top parts of the wings I could see were bare skin. After I closed the nestbox I got back and observed. There was a Chickadee that came in and took care of it so they were Chickadee babies. I have never had those in a nestbox before today.
